Kim Diehl: Simple Appeal Review and Giveaway!

[This giveaway has ended.]

Kim Diehl is having a super busy year. Her beautiful new book Simple Appeal is available today and it is about her love for using beautiful color combinations in patchwork and appliqué scrappy quilts for everyday use. Scroll down to the bottom to find out how to enter to win a copy of Simple Appeal and a bundle of Kim's fabric.

The projects are designed with classic pieced blocks and adorned by Kim's signature floral appliqué designs. The beauty of her designs is how easy it is for any quilter to stitch one for herself! There is always a warmth and charm in all of Kim's designs. The projects in Simple Appeal are no different and are perfect to use in decorating your home.

Martingale & Co. has done a fabulous job with the photography and the design of the book. The instructions are clear and there are plenty of great diagrams that accompany the written directions. Make sure that you head over to the Martingale & Co. website to order your copy of Simple Appeal.

On the fabric front, Kim has been designing several new fabric collections for Henry Glass this year. The first line to debut will be Vintage Farmhouse in June. The fresh and pretty palette will be a great foundation for any of the quilts in Simple Appeal.

Henry Glass and Kim are excited to introduce you her new Simple Whatnots Club this year. All the details are on the Henry Glass website here.

I think quilts belong on beds or on a quilt rack for display. I love the look of them on tables but am in fear of someone spilling food or candle wax on them so I resist the urge to make table quilts. I do like runners, though, because you can take them off before people make a mess on them. Too much work goes into a quilt to have them stained.

I have quilts all over my house, on beds, hanging on the walls, I have four quilt racks, and three wall racks, they are on the rungs of a ladder, draped over chairs, and rolled up on shelves. I purchased the curtain rods with the clips so I can hang them in the windows as well! Thanks for the giveaway!

I'm new to quilting, and haven't finished anything that turned out very well, so I can't say my quilts are "decorating" anywhere. But as I improve I hope to fill the house with beautiful projects. Thanks for the great giveaway.

I love to make quilted wall hangings and have made several using Kim's patterns.

I've been making wallhangings because we have an open plan house with a long balcony rail. With a range of hangings I can keep changing with the seasons or my mood.

I used to prefer to make larger quilts, but I am finding that I really enjoy making a smaller project (for instant gratification) and love the little touches of color that can be spread throughout my home.
