A family crisis meant my plans were put on hold
Fantastic fireworks! Lots of quilting! Good food and barbeque! It was a full weekend!

We spent time with family and friends and enjoyed an awesome fireworks display.
We spent time visiting with family and watching the fireworks.
I spent the holiday picking plums and working on cutting branch of a plum tree that had cracked because it was so over weighted with plums this year.
We went canoeing on the holiday weekend... It was our maiden voyage and the weather and water was beautiful!! Can't wAit to get out on the lake to explore again!!
Had a BBQ but it was too dry here to shoot off any fireworks. Kind of a let down, but at least the dogs didn't freak out this year.

My family went to the lake for the 4th of July weekend.
Our kids, grandkids and some cousins came to our place for a cookout and fireworks on the 4th. It was a fun evening in spite of the mosquitoes!

This weekend we shared barbecues with friends, watched the local fireworks display, golfed, slept in, hung the flag to celebrate, and just enjoyed our freedoms.
We picked my daughter and grandson from the Atlanta airport. We live in Atlanta and they live in Tucson. It was wonderful to have them start their visit on the 4th. They watched fireworks from the plane!

Went to the fireworks on Saturday night in our 1960 MGA. They were beautiful and it was so much fun to sit in the car with the top down and look up and watch the spectacular presentation.

It rained most of the weekend here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I worked on organizing my sewing room. Looked like a storm went through it where I was working on some swap blocks last week...lol

On the holiday weekend, I spent some time sewing a sundress for my granddaughter. Plus I enjoyed viewing several fireworks displays from our back deck!

On the 4th I was in the hospital getting a revision on the graft in my arm for renal and then had breathing problems and had to be vented.

Sorry forgot to post what I did for the weekend when I commented on the great fabric. What I did for the weekend was some gardening, some backyard clean-up projects, but need to do more that way. On the 4th of July sat on the back porch and watched fireworks going off all around us.
I was very sick so we did not do anything this year. We hope to make it up next weekend

Our holiday weekend events included heading down by the Mississippi River to see the city's fireworks display over the river. Before that, we grilled out in the park and played some volleyball. We made some new friends too! Fun times.

I went to Eurika Springs with my husband for our 29 Wedding Anniversary! We had a 3 day weekend enjoying antique shops, 1 fabric shop, & a train ride lunch!
I joined friends who roasted a whole pig! This was my first pig roast. Friends, great food and drink, followed by fireworks. Such fun!

Over the holiday, I stayed away from crowds, watched the fireworks on TV, and quilted all weekend! On the 4th, I attended a backyard bonfire and made smores with my grandchild. Next day, did more sewing! Love to have more fabric to use and love to use them on the free applique pattern that I just downloaded too!

I am fairly new to Kim's technique. Her designs and the beautiful fabric line by Henry Glass are a beautiful combination. I also just purchased some of her freezer so am anxious to try her method.

Family BBQ
I rested! I had 2 of my grandkids with me the week before and they went home on the 3rd. I was worn out! Lots of fun though!
I went to a Native American Pow Wow on the 4th w/my son and some friends. On the 5th, I went and got a lot of flowers to plant and spent time w/my parents. On the 6th, my family and my parents went to the beach and went kayaking. So a Fun filled Weekend.
I spent the weekend finishing table toppers for my cousins from Ireland to take back home with them.
Spent it in the hospital in the ICU. Finally feeling better and ready to get home to my two kittens and sewing.
We stayed quietly at home working on our projects. I went through my shelves and found unfinished quilt tops. I quilted one quilt and 2 wall hangings. yea!

I worked on the quilt I'm making for my nephew who is getting married on July 18. I call it the Oregon Quilt because it has wild geese trees in 4 sizes, some appliqued Oregon wild flowers, Oregon Grape, birds fish, tadpoles, dragon flies and other wild animals along with pieced deer, a coyote and a bear. I finally got the top done and started quilting it today!

I'm a retired school librarian and have been quilting almost a year. I'm addicted! We just returned from a trip to a National Park and I had to visit a quilt shop on a nearby town! Would love to win this great prize!
