Good morning! It is a very busy Monday morning here on the blog. First up, congratulations to Margaret Schindler for winning last week's bundle of Clearwater Critters by Leanne Anderson. This week Henry Glass is featuring this beautiful collection, Winter Song by Jane Shasky of Jane's Garden. Look for the collection in quilt shops in June.
Jane paints pretty watercolors from her studio in Washington State where she is constantly inspired by nature. Her paintings are very detailed and so much so that they closely resemble actual photographs.
The swatches below illustrate her fine detailed work and the lustrous textures that she paints into her watercolors.

I work on gifts all thru the year so come Nov-Dec I can just relax and enjoy family and festivities thru those two months.

I have been making a few things since last Christmas and have plans to make more as the year goes on. I have not ever made anything for our own house for Christmas and if I win this gorgeous fabric I will make a quilt for our house.

Not until October or November. But this year I am actually working on some now. Beautiful fabric.
I think about holiday gifts all through the year, and am sewing, gathering gifts, or just tucking away fabric and ideas all year long. Some years I'm better than others, with a spreadsheet and steady progress. Other years, not so much. This year I have already modified my big ideas somewhat to fit diminished output--it's June already!
This is such a sweet collection, I would love to make a quilt and wall hanging for the cottage... It would be perfect!! Thanks!!!
I work on quilting projects all year through, which includes a lot of Christmas themes. When it is closer to Christmas I start letting the recipients have their choice. What a fabulous designer, thank you for the, free projects, and the giveaway.
I'm seriously wondering why one of your extra questions is about snow... But with that said we have been experiencing frosty mornings where I live in northwestern Ontario!!! No kidding!!!

I'm getting organized now and watching the fabrics coming into the store so I can purchase what I like and then go from there

I love the prints. I just finished a Christmas Tablerunner. So I guess I think Christmas anytime.
I "think" about making next years Christmas gifts the day after this years Christmas. :) But actually "doing" it is another something else. :)

I'm not so organized to follow a set schedule ever. I make gifts when I have the need, when I am inspired, or when I have time. Sometimes Christmas gifts are finished in plenty of time and sometimes I'm working furiously at the last minute to finish.
For me, making Christmas gifts is a year-round activity.
My problem is I start early making gifts for Christmas and then wind up giving them way before Christmas arrives. Then I get serious around October again.
Actually, I am pulling out all my Christmas fabric this month to get started on Christmas seasonal items. If I try to start in November, I never get Christmas projects finished - too much to do then.
I usually start to think about making Christmas gifts a couple weeks after Thanksgiving--that's probably why I end up buying something instead.

I am always on the lookout for gift ideas. Working retail for many years, my brain is programmed to start thinking Christmas Jan. 1st. I love your fabric by the way. I'm working with your 4th of July fabric and I LOVE IT! So pretty!

Already started on gifts, in my head anyway. Now to get the list on paper and start crossing them off - I'll budget my time better if I do it that way.

I usually wait until October and then find myself rushing around to get them finished in time to give as gifts. I am going to try and start soone this year.
