Day 3: Jaftex 85th Anniversary Blog Hop & Desire To Inspire Too!

Welcome! Jaftex is the parent company of Henry Glass & Co., Studioe Fabrics and Blank Quilting and we are excited today to kick off the celebrations for the Jaftex 85th Anniversary Blog Hop.

We invited over 30 designers, quilt industry friends and bloggers to help us celebrate. Bundles of Henry Glass' Folio Basics, Studioe's Peppered Cottons or Blank's Fusion Illusion were sent to our friends and we asked them to make something special for our blog hop. They did not disappoint! Each day we will reveal the designs on the designers' blogs. Today our guest blogger is Anjeanette Klinder.

We met Anjeanette Klinder when she submitted her quilts to our Desire To Inspire Challenge. Anjeanette is a maker, wife, mother and giant dog owner. She spends her days making in Maryland and her nights dreaming in fabric. She learned to sew when she was young and has had the opportunity to share her designs with several sewing and fabric websites. She made a gorgeous modern table runner for her project. Click the link to see her beautiful project.

We'd like to introduce you to the latest Desire To Inspire challenger, Andrea Englert. We sent her a bundle of Hedgehugs by Beth Logan. She made this lovely quilt from the bundle that we sent her.

HG: Welcome, Andrea

HG:  Where do you live?
AE:  Florida, though I'm originally from Wisconsin

HG:  Tell us about your family.
AE:  My mom is a quilter herself, my Dad is retired, and I have one brother who has recently had a little baby girl!

HG:  How long have you been quilting?
AE:  Years, my mom got me interested since she also quilts, and I've quilted on and off since high school

HG:  What's your favorite technique?
AE:  Paper-piecing, I love the exactness it provides

HG:  Who taught you how to quilt?
AE:  My mom!

HG:  Do you belong to any guilds?
AE:  No, though I would like to in the future!

HG:  Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
AE:  I'm working on a years-long project now, interspersing smaller projects in as I finish a color. I'm almost done with the greens, which is the only color I've been working on!  Here's a picture of the finished product: http://imgur.com/Ahvho9v  It's called Cathedral Garden from Quilts With Style magazine, August 2003

HG:  Thank you Andrea!

If you want to be a challenger, please submit your design as detailed below.
