What Did We Ever Do Without Technology?

It is just one of those weeks. Oh, but it is only Tuesday! E-mail around here is not functioning properly. This situation lead to the question, what did we ever do without technology? Even if technology is not an issue, can you imagine what it would be like without a hobby?

Tell us, what does having a fabulous hobby as quilting or sewing mean to you?

Being able to create allows me to make things for myself and others and also charity quilts for others, so it gives my life purpose, as well. I would never know about these things without the internet and I have made many friends, some who I have met in person.

I would go completely bonkers without something to do with my hands.. they would just spend the day stuffing chocolates in my mouth. Total health risk there!

I love quilting. It's my creative outlet. I do use technology, a lot, and I use it as a fabric and pattern resource. I have no LQS, so I purchase fabric online!

Quilting helps me to handle what life may throw at me.I use it to keep busy and to give me satisfaction especially as the quilt takes shape.

Quilting takes me away from the harsh world. I can escape into soft wonderful cotton fabric. I do love technology. I spend all day at work in front of a computer and a few hours at home. So fabric adds the soft edge to life. It takes me to a time when things were much simpler.

Life would be boring. I so love creating. It slips into other realms of my life like teaching.

When I was younger, sewing meant being able to make new outfits that were economical and well made. Good fabric was still inexpensive and so were the patterns. I learned to crochet and knit and took them up with a passion when I quit smoking so I feel they contributed to my improved lifestyle. Now I also quilt and can't imagine my life without a project to work on. I say my crafts keep me out of trouble, but they also keep me calm and at ease.
