Amy Hamberlin is a great designer for Henry Glass, and also the girl behind the brand called Katie Cupcake & Co. Today we are giving away a bundle from her most recent collection:  #Laugh Love Quilt.

Amy represents the new demographic in the quilting industry, she is young, smart, tech-savvy, and uses social media to reach her audience. (Found on Instagram as #amyhamberlin).

If you would like to take a few minutes to watch this demo on tote bag-making she did at Quilt Market last fall, check this out.  In the video she shows off some fine-tuning skills to finish off your bag.   She is making her pattern Mamma Mia. It's so darn cute!

Today, you can enter to win this bundle from the #Laugh Love Quilt line, which is available in quilt shops now.

No, I don't buy block of the months. If I did, I would get them all at one time.

Vroomans' Quilts said...

I don't buy BOMs - too many great things to do with all the free stuff on the internet, plus I like to use my own choice of fabrics.

Carrie P. said...

When I buy BOM I like to get them once a month. More fun that way plus I will be more apt to keep up.

Carrie P. said...

I have bought BOM. I like to get them once a month, more fun that way.

Kathy G. said...

No, I have never bought a block of the month.

Martina said...

I only bought one BOM and it was a fee for all blocks. Normally I don't as it is difficult with shipping overseas and I love to use my stash. But I attend a few free BOM's which I like a lot!

Danette said...

I made a quilt for my sister's 50th birthday from a Block of the month. However, I didn't start sewing one block per month, so I had to catch up. But I did get it finished, quilted and bound for her birthday.

Havplenty said...

I do not buy BOM's as I like to choose my own fabrics and not have them chosen for me. But for some I know this is a great way for them to make coordinated quilts. It's all a personal choice.

Sandie @ crazy'boutquilts said...

I haven't done any recently, but when I did, I liked getting them all together. I could skip around and do them in whatever order I felt like, I could get ahead if I needed to and if I got behind, that was ok too. LOL Thanks for the fun!

Sandie @ crazy'boutquilts said...

BTW the link to the demo gives me an error message. :-(

Lisa England said...

I have never bought a BOM. I have tried to participate in free online BOMs but usually fall behind before long. Still, I have the patterns and can make them when they fit my schedule.

KaHolly said...

I have never done a BOM. I'm on a very limited budget.

Emily C said...

I like the idea, but I prefer to choose my own pattern (and often make my own). I rarely like both the fabric and the pattern of a BOM. My schedule is also so busy that realistically I don't have time.

DebrafromMD said...

I have done both.

Rosa said...

No, I didn´t ,I`m sewing along and made free BOM,last years and this one.I get them on the the blogs I`m following. There are generous designer that share them.

Vicki N said...

No to BOMs -not that I wouldn't love to but just not enough time or energy :) Okay not enough time-one can always get the energy,

Joanne said...

I used to buy BOMs and bought them monthly. I have not bought one in a few years because I still have some from years past that I have not even started. Of course I am not ruling out buying one again, if I absolutely LOVE it.

Quilting Jeannie said...

I participated only once in a block of the month at a local quilt shop. I didn't care for the quilt when I finished it. It would take amazing fabrics to get me to do another one.

Unknown said...

I do them one at a time.

Anonymous said...

I don't buy BOMs. I don't want a quilt identical to someone else's. I may follow BOMs where I use my own fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway!

Cheryl Hammond said...

Beautiful. I have a couple of BOMs waiting for attention.

@lutzcats said...

I did once, at month 8 they couldn't get the remainder of the pattern, and that was that...total waste.

Joanne Roberts said...

No I don't buy patterns. I like to wing it with what I have already. But I hope I win.

Beth said...

Yes I do buy some block of the month and I learn so much from the designers. Thanks you

Michele T said...

I have not participated in a BOM, but I would probably purchase a month at a time.

Kris said...

I haven't yet bought one, yet have been tempted.

Vandy said...

I buy them 1 month at a time, if I like it

Unknown said...

I have gotten a couple when I was just learning to quilt - but I found on most of them there wasn't enough info - plus having to pay shipping every month. I love the quilts that I did, but probably won't order another one

jellybean said...

I have never bought Bom I already have more fabric than I probably need but don't tell Hubby🇬🇧😊

patricia said...

Not usually. I'll wait for the book or whole pattern.

Kclegg said...

I'm doing my first BOM now!

I don't do BOM programs. I'm too impatient. I don't like waiting to finish the project. Lol...

cindy lanahan said...

Usually by the month

Debi said...

I do not buy BOM because I've experienced not enough fabric several times.

Anonymous said...

Monthly purchase of the BOM, that way I stay on task and don't fall behind stitching. Plus I love receiving new pattern and fabrics each month, it's like a gift to me:) Thank you all at Henry Glass & Co. You're awesome!

I do like BOTM. I have done them both ways, but usually 1 month at a time.

I have bought two complete BOM packags for quilts to be made as special gifts. I also participate in some on-line BOM projects using my own fabrics. So the answer is Both.

phegland said...

I don't buy BOMs. I see many beautiful projects sold this way, but I think my attention span is too short for this type of project.

Sue said...

Don't use bom, prefer to design my own, , making it up as I go along!

Unknown said...

I buy them sometimes. A block at a time.

Robin said...

The Gleam app says there are 36 possibl entries but it will only show me one way to enter.

wendy said...

I do not buy BOM's. There are so many free ones on the sites that I enjoy I just figure I have more money to spend on fabric.

Marjorie's Busy Corner said...

I haven't bought one.....but they are appealing

Sheila said...

I did my first quilt as a block of the month in 1987 - we went to class and learned how to piece the block. I haven't bought one since. I have done guild blocks with my own fabric.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I have done A BOM program. Beautiful, happy fabric! urchin(at)kpunet.net

Material Girl said...

I am not doing BOMs . I don't really like sampler quilts and it seems that they end up looking like them. I also have a hard time with following instructions. If I'm told to use a light background, I tend to want a dark one to jack up the contrast.....

Unknown said...

no...but they are lovely

scottylover said...

I don't buy block of the month programs. I used to participate in a BOM that one of our LQS had but you could only get one block at a time there. The shop has since closed and I haven't found a program at any of the other LQS that I like.

Joanna said...

I've joined in many BOM's online and use my own fabric, so no I don't buy them.

Beth said...

I did a couple of BOM programs back when I was a new quilter--finished one, and the other is still in a pizza box in my closet. Now I participate either though online quilt-alongs, or through our LQS Saturday programs, in which they provide the fabric & pattern if we complete the block (or, sometimes, just show up to pick up the components). I see a lot of very cute block of the month programs now, and would probably sign up, but the costs are way too high--$25 to $39 a month? in the end that is a very expensive quilt, before the quilting.

mumbird3 said...

I love BOMs.....most of the time I buy them monthly but I have purchased all at one time if the design is so hot that I just have to have it!!!

No, I have not bought any BOMs, but I have taken part in a few free BOMs through blogs and enjoyed them very much! If I were to buy any, I'd buy them one at a time.

I prefer to purchase all the blocks at once, i am an over achiever and a block a month isn't enough

Bonnie58 said...

I like to drag out the suspense and reciev the blocks one at a time. Thanks for sharing

I haven't bought any BOM's yet, but I'd consider it if I fell in love with one of them. I'd buy a month at a time for budget purposes. Thanks for the chance to win!
