Kim Diehl: Simple Appeal Review and Giveaway!

[This giveaway has ended.]

Kim Diehl is having a super busy year. Her beautiful new book Simple Appeal is available today and it is about her love for using beautiful color combinations in patchwork and appliqué scrappy quilts for everyday use. Scroll down to the bottom to find out how to enter to win a copy of Simple Appeal and a bundle of Kim's fabric.

The projects are designed with classic pieced blocks and adorned by Kim's signature floral appliqué designs. The beauty of her designs is how easy it is for any quilter to stitch one for herself! There is always a warmth and charm in all of Kim's designs. The projects in Simple Appeal are no different and are perfect to use in decorating your home.

Martingale & Co. has done a fabulous job with the photography and the design of the book. The instructions are clear and there are plenty of great diagrams that accompany the written directions. Make sure that you head over to the Martingale & Co. website to order your copy of Simple Appeal.

On the fabric front, Kim has been designing several new fabric collections for Henry Glass this year. The first line to debut will be Vintage Farmhouse in June. The fresh and pretty palette will be a great foundation for any of the quilts in Simple Appeal.

Henry Glass and Kim are excited to introduce you her new Simple Whatnots Club this year. All the details are on the Henry Glass website here.

Would you like to win a digital copy of Simple Appeal and a bundle of Kim's fabric? Tell us where you like to decorate your quilts with. i make all size quilts but few are on beds. my husband's number one job is to make unique things that quilts can hang from so that they can be all over the house

I haven't kept many quilts. Most are kids' charity quilts. Hopefully retirement later this year will give me time to do some for myself and put them on display on the sofas and beds.

I make all sizes of quilts, from hot pads to king sized bed quilts. I like the versatility and completion speed of smaller items, like table runners. They can go on dressers, the freezer, over the backs of chairs, or the couch or be used instead of a throw rug in a no traffic area. I love Kim's design's and the fabric bundle would be awesome, too. I really hope I win and thanks so much for the opportunity!

I mostly make kids' charity quilts that I deliver to a kids' chemo unit. Maybe with retirement at the end of the year I can make myself a "grown-up" quilt!

I decorate with quilts in most of my rooms. I have one hanging in the kitchen, at least one in each bedroom, etc.

Wall quilts are my fave, with table runners/cloths a close second. Quilts add such a great splash of color wherever you put them.

I like lap quilts. They brighten up a room when hung over the back of a chair or couch and are handy to cozy under. Thanks for offering the lovely giveaway.

I have been making wedding quilts and graduation quilts but I think I am about at the end of that and am making lap quilts instead of bed quilts.

I like to use smaller projects as "accents" throughout the house. For example, I will put a table runner on an old buffet. Small projects can be used in bread baskets or to make a wicker basket look lovely. Thanks for a chance to win Kim's latest book and the fabric line--very beautiful!

Although I'm still a bit of a newbie, I have often found myself taking on very large quilting projects- only to find myself overwhelmed by their size! So I am trying to scale down my quilting projects until I become more knowledgeable and comfortable with the entire process!
