Scrappy Quilt Love

Thank you for entering our giveaway for Kim Diehl's book  Simple Appeal and a bundle of her fabric. While we were looking through her book one thing came to mind. Kim uses a lot of different prints and we believe that is what makes her quilts come alive! We wonder what is the largest number of individual prints that you think you've used in one project?

Remember, if you haven't entered the giveaway, go back and do so here. Good luck!

Have a great weekend.

  1. I don't think I have ever counted the number of fabrics in a project~ I like 'the more the merrier' approach. I guess that is why Kim's patterns appeal to me so much. :-)

  2. I think the largest number of prints I have used in a single quilt is about 50 different ones!

  3. Right now I am working on a king-sized Civil War repro quilt, and I've used 84 different fabrics so far. It has been great fun.

  4. I really don't count and I love to make scrappy quilts. I do stack up the fabrics I am using on projects next to my cutting board and sometimes the stack is about a foot tall.

  5. I don't know how many, but there have been some scrappy ones that I've used as many as I think will go with each other in the quilt. I do have the McCall's quilt along going from this winter (it's a Burgoyne Surround block) and I'm using about 10 fabrics alone just for the background, and many prints from 4 or 5 lines of the same designer for the color in the blocks, so it'll be alot!!!

  7. I did Celtic Solstice this year designed by Bonnie Hunter and I used over a hundred differentfabrics as I started cutting up my smallest pieces first! It was a good scrap buster. Kathy Aho in MN
