  1. Yes, I have made a couple of large snuggle quilts from flannels for a raffle. Raised a good bit of $$ for the organization and used a few scraps from my bins in the process.

  5. I love love love Flannel! Did I already say I love Flannel? I have made quite a few Flannel quilts, one for my Dad from a tumbler ruler, some basic patchwork quilts for Kids Christmas silent auction & of course my most favorite Rag quilts.

  15. Yes! I have made a beautiful Thimbleberries sampler quilt out of flannel and gifted it to my parents. It has been well loved.

  32. When you live in Iowa, you need flannel quilts. My favorite winter quilt has both top and back out of flannel. Sometimes I use flannel for backing fabric. Love flannel quilts.

  51. I have made flannel quilts in the past and am currently working on one. It is a snowman lap quilt for my lovely sis-in-heart, something to curl up in with a good book in front of a crackling fire. Working with flannel always warms my heart with memories of the flannel nightgowns my grandmother and mother made for me.

  55. I love making flannel blankets. I am working on two others right now. Here in Phoenix it's hard to find flannel that has patterns to it. Most places only carry baby flannel. Love this pattern.

  70. Yes! My very first 'real' quilt was a flannel woodland quilt for our cabin. Queen sized! I still have quilts to make for the three other beds, so flannel is my best friend!

  75. Yes, I have used flannel as the backing, the patchwork squares, and as the main appliques on a large quilt for my Mom. It is of a monkey in flannel pajamas and slippers.

  78. Oh yes, when I first started tieing quilts, flannel was all I used. Now I makes PJs at Christmas and use the scraps for twin or larger sized quilts for charity. I love flannel. Thanks.

  83. Yes I (with the help of some friends) make lap robes for two of our local Nursing homes. Using flannel on the backs not only keeps them on the bed and chairs; but adds much needed warmth. We use flannel on one side of the nap time blankets for our "head start " program.

    To answer you question re. flannel...our Quilting for charity group at church started using cozy flannel as a backing for quilts of all sizes! Living in Montana, I do the same for 50% of the quilts I make to stay warm & cozy!
