  1. I'll look at primitive prints first.

  2. I look for reproduction first, but I have many styles of fabrics in my stash.

  3. I usually look for polka dots first, or solids. I have been sewing from my stash a lot, and I use Konas and polka dots to fill in, as backgrounds, and the polka dots for quilt backs for mini quilts.

  4. Hmmm....the link did not work. Is this where you want to know whether I shop for primitives or novelty prints more? The answer is probably novelty prints, all told, if you count baby quilts, holiday quilts, dog quilts, etc., although I love primitive quilts and I would choose those individually over novelties.

  6. It really depends on what I'm making when I go shopping. It could be either novelty prints or primitive prints. Lately, it would be more novelty prints, because there are so many babies due over the next few months.

  7. Link did not work, but here I am. I look at novelty fabrics first. Primitive prints are not what I'm working with at this point in time.

  8. I think I shop both equally, it just depends on what I am doing with it.

  9. I forgot to leave my email! missysaprons@gmail.com in my comment before I said that I like to shop both equally.

  10. I shop more for novelty prints than primitive fabrics. The first thing I look for (after the sales) is the juvenile novelty prints. I sew a lot of things for babies and toddlers, so I like to keep up with what's new.

  22. The link you provided didn't work. Novelty prints for sure. I'm not into primitive prints.

  23. Sorry, I'm confused on where to post the answers to your two questions, so they are both being answered here. When in a quilt shop I look at the batiks first, then the novelty fabrics, then the new fabrics, and then all the rest.

  24. It depends on what I need, which is what I look for. But colors catch my eye, and I often need to search out the display. And which color varies. Sometimes it's blues, sometimes it's purples, or red. I do love novelty prints, though, especially holiday related. I love florals and batiks, too, though. Thanks for providing such cute inspiration.

  25. I don't use too many novelties unless I'm sewing for kids.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Lately I've been attracted to the batiks.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I go to Batiks, then 30's then children's for pillowcases. Last year we donated 434 pillowcases to Children's Hospital so I an always looking for children's fabric.

  39. I have no true preference. I love to browse and when I find a color/design that strikes my fancy, that's what I'll buy. Now these penguins are something I'd definitely want, my adult daughter has had a love of penguins since childhood!
