The Henry Glass offices are located in NYC and as you know by now, the northeast was hit with a big snowstorm. We long for spring and warmer temperatures! Stay warm if you are affected by the snow storms of late.
One day last week there was some organizing going on in the offices and we thought that it would be so fun if we showed YOU how much we love our fans. For the next few days, we will ask you some questions and all you have to do is answer here on the blog or on Facebook. Also, please let your friends know about the giveaway. The more the merrier! Personally, I love bright, clear colors. Aqua and lime are some of my favorites. I am not a fan of purple, but there are times when it's just what a quilt needs. And I make quilts in lots of different color schemes because I try to make them to suit the person who will receive the quilt. I have had a hard time finding a good variety of bright grass greens.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is aqua with least favorite being burgundy. I always have a hard time finding yellows and grays. Would love to see more true yellow prints either bright and vibrant or muted but still true yellow.

Most lacking I think is yellow very hard to find a bright cheery yellow that says hello spring! Would love to see more yellows for sure!
I love bright colors and prints. On the other hand, my least fave is yellow.

I love all colors since I make so many different types of quilts. I do not like neon colors,emerald blue or a shiny yellow.
ReplyDeleteI do not like black or solid whites. But, I do love deep browns (like the color chocolate) and I do love vibrate colors such as orange.
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are burgundy and taupe or gray. What I dislike are orange red or lime green -- but I'm sure they have their purpose... ;) I can never seem to find enough greens for stems, leaves and or dark taupe/grey - with a green tint. ReplyDeleteI am especially attracted to greens and to tone-on-tones. My least favorite color is blue, yet there is so much of it out there. I am attracted to the yellow/black combination and have difficulty finding prints containing both. Thank you for this great give-away. Happy Valentines' Day!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is a dark red, my least favorite color is blue. I do a lot of applique and sometimes have trouble finding yellows that are not neon and bright. Greens are also sometimes hard to find that are not too bright.

ReplyDeleteI love blues, purples, and pinks. i don't really like green or orange, but will use it if required. I love the variety currently in the market. I think you can find something that works in most manufacturers. I am looking for good quality whites and tone on tones. Some out there currently are so thin they look like gauze. I also want a good white with pastel batik. Just something with a little extra color, but mostly white. There are a few cream batiks, but none that have a white background. This bundle looks cute!

ReplyDeleteI love all colors of blue and blue green and usually find a way to have some blue in most of my quilts. I am not really a fan of orange but have seen it used and think it is growing on me. I am really like the bright colors and think that adding gray to any quilt is fun.
ReplyDeleteI love reds and blues, including pinks and turquoises. My least favorite is probably orange on it's own, but a bit in a quilt is okay. I think the market does a good job of covering every color and variation.

ReplyDeleteI'm new, so I haven't really seen a lack of any colors or fabric yet. I tend to like real bright rainbow colors (in solids too) and pretty pastels. ReplyDeleteIt is hard to pick a favorite, I have many, so I will go with my husband's which is blue. I am picking greens are hard to come by. I have looked for a piece with mostly greens for a shower curtain for awhile.

Blue and green are the colors I am especially drawn to. Soft colors just look very cozy.
ReplyDeleteI love red, but thing all colors have a place in quilting. As for colors that seem to be "missing", just wait a little while and they will show up in someone collection.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is Kelly Green, which can actually be hard to find, but I really love creating with just about any color and I like a varied selection on hand. Although I have never really favored florals, there are MANY exceptions, especially those based on fun retro prints or very artistic renderings that are not too feminine. Wood Block and ethnics are fun. It is great to see some variety of geometrics lately as I have always favored them. I'd like to see a great line of large scale tonal prints that are not floral or juvenile.

ReplyDeleteMy most favorite colors are in the violet/light purple range. My least favorite are definitely oranges. As for what is missing, all of your companies lovely plaids. There are so many 'modern' fabrics -- dots, chevrons, etc. that a lot of the more traditional fabrics seem to be going by the wayside.

My favorite colors are blue and purple and I don't really have any colors that I don't like. So far I have not had a hard time finding any colors that I am looking for.
ReplyDeleteMy first love of colors for quilts are those ever luscious warm browns, golds and reds. But then spring comes around and I find myself yearning for light colors so then go for the yellows, blues and greens. I would love to see more dirty greens (poison green if you will) and dusty pink (dirty pink is what I call it). All these colors blend so well with neutrals.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite colours are purple and green, not a fan of orange at all, be it fabric or paint, my biggest problem finding fabric has been in the blue family. I know there is a lot of blue but just not the perfect blue for my need. No matter, I changed the colour and went with a grey instead, worked for me.

I love the earthy warm feeling these fabrics give. I think they would be great the way they are. As far as a whole regarding fabrics I would love to see more vintage lacy fabrics. beiges, browns, taupes, very light teal. I'm usually attracted to reds and blacks but I'm trying to go in another direction. I hope that made sense. The bundle shown as I said I think looks perfect as is. :)

I love neutrals and want to make a quilt with just neutrals but don't have near enough. I would love a bigger selection, especially tans.

ReplyDeleteIt seems like when I want a color it's out. The other day I couldn't find beiges, go figure. A few months ago everyone had beiges. I really don't like orange, it's over powering. Just a little does the trick. Lately I've had trouble finding shades of brown. Is everyone buying all the beiges and browns? I'm amazed at all the colors you create. My favorite quilt colors are always Blue and green, I think they are always out there. Blenders are so important to a quilt. Thanks for all the inspiration. Maybe grey is my least favorite but it's growing on me.

ReplyDeleteI love blues and have a wide assortment, but the colors I have the hardest time finding are very pale blues, like ice while still being clear and crisp. Also, very dark navy blue and midnight blue.

ReplyDeleteI find that yellows are difficult to find...corn yellow is plentiful yet the many various shades of yellow are few and far between. Strange as is sounds, Browns that come in so many rich beautiful colors when it comes to fabrics....I can only find about 3 to 5 different shades of brown. I don't have a favorite color, each has it's own place and depending on what I am working on will dictate the colors used. I do find that I lean more towards fabrics that are pure saturated colors rather than those colors that are muted weathered or appear aged or faded....and for quilting...neons are avoided at all cost.

I love the soft romantic colors of pink, blue and green...but I also like the darker colors and different hues of these colors... I have made quilts using all colors and they are all beautiful. Even the civil war colors that I would of thought I wouldn't like... So I try them all... And I have loved everything I have made.....
