ReplyDeleteI have made many of Kim's quilts, but if it wasn't in one of her books, I probably have not. From what I have seen, the quilts are very small.

ReplyDeleteI love the richness of the colors and three simple designs of this fabric. I'll have to say I have never made A Simple Whatnots Club project. I don't think I have even heard of it. I am a Kim Diehl fan though.

ReplyDeleteI have done two clubs. I did one online with Fat Quarter Shop and one at the local store here. It is more fun in person but the store here only did it once and does not plan to again. Oh well, I certainly have enough leftover fabric to do more of her projects in my own.

ReplyDeleteYes I have all of SW1 completed and almost all of them quilted. I absolutely love them but sadly there is no local shop participating. Love all of the fabrics and her designs are just that right combo of scrappy with a little bit of applique in all of those lovely earthy warm tones.

ReplyDeleteOhhh.... all I can say is I love love love anything Kim Diehl. Whenever I go into a store and I see Kim's fabric I start doing the happy dance. She even has a special space in my sewing room that is all her fabric and books. A new line.... woo-hoo I feel another happy dance coming on. I have some of her whatnots patterns. Can't wait till I have the time to work on them. Need to finish all the have to do projects first.

ReplyDeleteI love Kim Diehl! I own almost all of her books and have a ton of her fabric! I've participated in Simple Whatnot's for several years and have made not only the projects but some of her recipes as well. However, the true highlight for me was attending one of Kim's trunk shows in St. Regis, MT, meeting her and seeing her incredible quilts in person. Inspiring and motivating!
