“Peaceful Garden” by Mary Jane Carey of Holly Hill Quilt Designs Peaceful Garden is a collection of romantic florals and complementary basics. Simple basics such as an astilbe fern and a delicate paisley balance these graceful blooms. The designs and hues are depicted in a delicate palette reminiscent of an era when life was more peaceful. Tones of color more sophisticated and muted portrayed in hues such as cream, blush, sage and sky blue create a serene setting.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely the sewing is my favorite part of a project. Planning is also fun, with choosing the fabric the best way to spend some time. But my very favorite moment is when I have put in the last stitch and shake out my quilt when it's done. There is nothing like a finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI have to say the Sewing & Gifting. I love to make quilts for other. While I am sewing I picture that person all snug as a bug in it & loving it. Hopefully passing it on to someone they love. I am not a great quilter but that's ok, It's the thought :)

ReplyDeleteI really like everything but cutting out the pieces. My wrists are bad these days. My FMQ skills are not the best so that part is tricky but I'm learning.

ReplyDeleteI like all of the quilting process, except basting a large quilt. I usually end up putting that off. But I eventually get it done because I have to get to the quilting and binding part, which I enjoy.

I love it when I come up with the perfect quilt for the fabric I want to use! One of the best parts of quilting is trimming up the edges before adding the binding - love knowing I am almost over the finish line :)
