Good morning! It is a very busy Monday morning here on the blog. First up, congratulations to Margaret Schindler for winning last week's bundle of Clearwater Critters by Leanne Anderson. This week Henry Glass is featuring this beautiful collection, Winter Song by Jane Shasky of Jane's Garden. Look for the collection in quilt shops in June.
Jane paints pretty watercolors from her studio in Washington State where she is constantly inspired by nature. Her paintings are very detailed and so much so that they closely resemble actual photographs.
The swatches below illustrate her fine detailed work and the lustrous textures that she paints into her watercolors.
Make sure that you download these free patterns from the Henry Glass website.
Come back tomorrow for our latest Desire To Inspire challenge project. It's a beauty.
Good luck!
- Henry Glass
I work on gifts all thru the year so come Nov-Dec I can just relax and enjoy family and festivities thru those two months.
ReplyDeleteI usually start thinking about holiday sewing around August - but I rarely start before November!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here but lots of rain!
ReplyDeleteI just finished a lap quilt that is going to be a Christmas gift and need to quilt a Christmas themed quilt for another one. I've been sewing for the holidays for the last month.
ReplyDeleteI usually start about June. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePlease click on the delaineelliott above for my email link.

I have been making a few things since last Christmas and have plans to make more as the year goes on. I have not ever made anything for our own house for Christmas and if I win this gorgeous fabric I will make a quilt for our house.

I start my Xmas projects late in the summer - usually in August!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here! :)
ReplyDeleteDuring my summer break. I try to have everything quilted before I return in August
ReplyDeleteLast year I started in August and was still running around last minute! I've just started on my first baby quilt for a Christmas present - so May this year! x

ReplyDeleteI start thinking about them in the summer but I'm a bit rubbish at actually starting them. I'm always last minute and I never seem to learn!
ReplyDeleteEvery time i see pretty fabric like this....tytyty for ideas and giveaway..........happyness04431@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI think Christmas gifts all year long!
ReplyDeleteI start thinking about Christmas gifts in September, though I usually don't get started sewing until November. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI work on presents all year.
ReplyDeleteI think about it periodically during the year but don't usually start anything until Oct or Nov.
ReplyDeleteNo snow but had 11 inches of rain in May.
ReplyDeleteNot until October or November. But this year I am actually working on some now. Beautiful fabric.
ReplyDeleteI think about holiday gifts all through the year, and am sewing, gathering gifts, or just tucking away fabric and ideas all year long. Some years I'm better than others, with a spreadsheet and steady progress. Other years, not so much. This year I have already modified my big ideas somewhat to fit diminished output--it's June already!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet collection, I would love to make a quilt and wall hanging for the cottage... It would be perfect!! Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteI work on quilting projects all year through, which includes a lot of Christmas themes. When it is closer to Christmas I start letting the recipients have their choice. What a fabulous designer, thank you for the, free projects, and the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously wondering why one of your extra questions is about snow... But with that said we have been experiencing frosty mornings where I live in northwestern Ontario!!! No kidding!!!
ReplyDeleteLooove this Bundle!!! I start Christmas sewing projects ...usually in March or sooner. Due to Radiation stuff in March thru mid-April....& bit of recoup time...I have just started to work on Christmas projects.
ReplyDeleteThanks for chance to win! :)

I'm getting organized now and watching the fabrics coming into the store so I can purchase what I like and then go from there
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about it all year long, but don't usually start anything until October. Gorgeous fabric....I love snowmen and cardinals!
ReplyDeleteNo snow here....we have temps in the 90's and thunderstorms.
ReplyDeleteI think about Christmas sewing all year long. I just don't do anything about it until it is crunch time!
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for ideas for holiday presents. When it comes time to make them, though, I usually can't remember where I saw the idea!

I like to start making things early so I am not working on last minute gifts. Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm already thinking about what to sew for Christmas this year. I love the new Christmas fabrics that are already out.

Usually early Fall, depending on what types of projects I'm making for gifts and Christmas. I often make quilts for gifts that are not related to Christmas. That's why sometimes I may start earlier.

I like to start in mid July. It is usually so hot here that I stay inside.

All year round!
ReplyDeleteI love the prints. I just finished a Christmas Tablerunner. So I guess I think Christmas anytime.
ReplyDeleteI "think" about making next years Christmas gifts the day after this years Christmas. :) But actually "doing" it is another something else. :)
ReplyDeletecraftyccain@gmail.com
I'm not so organized to follow a set schedule ever. I make gifts when I have the need, when I am inspired, or when I have time. Sometimes Christmas gifts are finished in plenty of time and sometimes I'm working furiously at the last minute to finish.
ReplyDeleteFor me, making Christmas gifts is a year-round activity.
ReplyDeleteMy problem is I start early making gifts for Christmas and then wind up giving them way before Christmas arrives. Then I get serious around October again.
ReplyDeleteActually, I am pulling out all my Christmas fabric this month to get started on Christmas seasonal items. If I try to start in November, I never get Christmas projects finished - too much to do then.
ReplyDeleteI usually start to think about making Christmas gifts a couple weeks after Thanksgiving--that's probably why I end up buying something instead.
ReplyDeleteno snow!
ReplyDeletemsstitcher1214@gmail.com
I haven't made any Christmas gifts yet, but might start this year, maybe in a month or 2
ReplyDeleteI never stop thinking about making new gifts for my family and friends - even when I finish one project for them - I'm already thinking about what I can make for them next year

ReplyDeleteUsually start in September, but really need to start earlier so it isn't such a rush.

I am always on the lookout for gift ideas. Working retail for many years, my brain is programmed to start thinking Christmas Jan. 1st. I love your fabric by the way. I'm working with your 4th of July fabric and I LOVE IT! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteProlly in the fall. Maybe sooner if it's a big project.
ReplyDeleteWE HAVE SUMMER! NO SNOW!
ReplyDeletemsstitcher1214@gmail.com
I think it is something I think about and work on all year long!
ReplyDeleteDebby
Already started on gifts, in my head anyway. Now to get the list on paper and start crossing them off - I'll budget my time better if I do it that way.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here in the Piedmont area of NC.
ReplyDeleteI usually wait until October and then find myself rushing around to get them finished in time to give as gifts. I am going to try and start soone this year.
ReplyDeleteI file projects in my mind but I don't sew until at least October. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope we're finished with snow this summer. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI don't start working on Christmas projects until summer yardwork and gardening is all done.
ReplyDeleteLots of rain this week...but I needed the inside rest after working so much outside in the garden.
