Lil Red Hen in Paola, KS. It's not a huge shop but I love the selection of fabrics, that the owner will order any notion or pattern you need and the all around fun, happy spirit of the shop.
ReplyDeleteThat is an easy one, lol! It is the Cotton&Color Shop. The people there are so friendly, have great advice and the shop is full with yummy fabrics at (for Switerland) resonable prices! Yay!

ReplyDeleteWe really don't have a local quilt shop. The one I enjoy going to is Front Porch Quilts in Prairie Du Chein, WI. It is a cute little house with fabric in every room. There is lots of sample quilts and projects to look at and get ideas of fabric combinations. Thanks for the great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to choose just one favorite quilt shop, but I love visiting Grubers in Waite Park MN--tons of fabrics to choose from, zillions of inspiring samples and a great staff!

ReplyDeleteWell, I don't actually know about any local quilt shops; I don't have the budget for buying fabric, so I don't go to shops, I find scraps or use what I've been given. I have been to some wonderful shops in Bird-In-Hand, PA, though!

ReplyDeleteMy fav quilt shop here in Regina is the Peachtree quilt shop. They carry theist wonderful fabrics and they are helpful with any sewing problem!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is West Virginia Quilt about 25 miles from my home. What makes it special is the owner. She is always encouraging, lets me know when she gets new things I might like, and going to the shop is like visiting a friend.
ReplyDeleteThe Quilted Forest! Besides being a great shop, I love to walk my twins there in the double stroller and their spacious store allows plenty of space for us to stroll around while we shop!

I do not have a local quilt shop -- not many options nearby at all. I rely on online stores. I do have a local craft store, tho.
ReplyDeleteMy LQS is actually called The Quilt Store - Evelyns Sewing Center in Newmarket, Ontario. It is a fabulous store with tons and fabrics, classes and amazing displays for inspiration.

My favorite LQS is Quilter's Corner Store in Beaverton, Oregon. It is a small shop but the owner has done a great job of stocking the store with fabulous fabrics. She also will take suggestions for fabrics which you would like to see in the store and does follow up on buying it. There are great project kits that are quick to make and her prices are very reasonable.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite local quilt shop is the Sun Valley Fabric Granary - they have the nicest employees, a beautiful array of sample quilts, and great fabric selection. Oh - and the ceiling is to die for - you have to visit to see the ceiling :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite local quilt shop is Momma Made It in Longview, WA. It is a shop devoted to Civil War repros and it has the most wonderful vibe. The fabrics are gorgeous, and displayed really well. There are samples all over the store along with books that appeal to every stage of quilter. Sharon, the owner, and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and really welcoming. All in all, a delightful place to be and a real asset to our community.

ReplyDeleteJackman's Fabrics in St. Louis is my fave LQS. The staff there are great, it is family owned, they have lots and lots of batiks, there are plenty of classes to choose from, the sewing department staff is great, there is a whole section of specialty fabrics. I could go on and on but I love my LQS.

My favorite quilt shop is Fabric Chicks in Coupeville, Washington. Melanie, the owner of the shop has been an encouragement to me and is a big reason why I make quilts today.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quilt shop is Village Creek in Lodi, WI. The owner, the staff, how the store is decorated, the samples and the fabric all make this store enjoyable and the best. You should stop in if you are ever near Lodi, WI!

ReplyDeleteThe Old Country Store, Intercourse, PA is my favorite local shop. We are so happy it's back and better than ever. The staff is wonderful, they have a fabulous inventory and it's fun to talk with visitors from around the world. I'm so lucky to have it in my "neighborhood".

ReplyDeleteWe have a Quilty Shop near us, called Country Fabrics...it is owned by Mennonites. They have the most Awesome quilts hanging up everywhere!! Sweeetest ladies work there...and are helpful as can be. So many fabrics to choose from.. threads, notions, etc. Even some Gorgeous China Tea Sets! Asst'd other cool household things too. Looove going there!!

My favorite shop is The Quilting Quarters in Almonte Ontario Canada. The Owner Sue Shutt gives you hands on help in choosing fabric. When taking classes from her she is very knowledgeable and gives you one on one help. Like this shop very much.

ReplyDeleteWe don't have any quilt shops in our area, as far as I know. There is a nice fabric shop that has relatively inexpensive fabric, but they don't have much quilting cotton.

ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful shop in Pensacola, called A & E Fabric. I LOVE to go there, but it is a very dangerous place! LOL They have such a wonderful stock of fabric and craft supplies!! It's hard to have restraint when you're shopping there! :-)
ReplyDeleteIn Amsterdam there's a small shop called "'t stoffenkarretje" and it's special because you can find all kind of fabrics for a very good deal and the saleslady is just so open and warm, she doesn't want to sell us fabrics well not only that, but she also talks to me and my friends and she's so friendly!
