Back To School Giveaway

It's back to school time! Many children have gone back to school and many parents and caregivers who love to quilt are probably gearing up to start sewing something new or to go to a quilt show or two soon. We know that we can inspire you to start something new! We've got Jill Finley's next installment of pdq* Club [PRETTY DARN QUICK] coming this week and we're waiting on this month's Desire to Inspire project. We thought that it would be fun to have a giveaway. We quilters need our fabric inspiration!

  2. This summer I've filled in rainy days and evening with sewing and quilting. I've completed a couple of growth charts, sewn a wall hanging, done some extra quilting on my wool baskets and made quilted envelope pillows for my sister! On my list of to-do's is Kim Diehl's snowball quilt... Love her fabrics and designs!

  5. I've made lots of quilty gifts this summer. Quilts, table runners, totes, etc. Many will be gifts for Christmas -- sometimes it's hard to wait to give them!

  6. My husband took me on a trip to Colonial Williamsburg for my birthday this summer. It was great because we visited so many of our old haunts from years ago when we lived there!

  14. I Love, Love, Love Henry Glass Fabrics. I'm a new quilter, but this summer I finished the Mans Best Friend quilt. I've got lots of Winter Parade projects to finish before the holidays! More Doggies please!

  16. We spent 10 days at the beach. And 5 days at the 150th reenactment at Gettysburg!! Looking forward to colder days so that sewing is more comfortable

  20. It's been a busy summer but I have almost finished a special quilt! It will be given to a family that helped us evacuate our farm equipment when the floods hit us here in central Kansas! God Bless them! I love both of the fabrics you are giving away...they are absolutely adorable!

  21. It's been a busy summer with flooding here in central Kansas. I have completed a quilt for my daughter's graduation that has a quilt on both the front and back but right now I am working on a quilt to give to the neighbors who helped us evacuate the farm equipment when the flood invaded the sheds with 2 foot of stinking flood waters in the late night hours. God Bless them!

  28. not much time for sewing, I assisted my daughter and her family (she has 2 y/o triplets)in a move from the interior of Alaska to upstate New York (with a stop in Vancouver, WA., and Huntsville, AL) That has kept me very busy - I have been trying to keep up with a couple BOM's and that is about all. Need to finish a baby quilt for a shower on the 5th of Sept!

  29. msSnow Babies & Bear Hugs are so cute! I found Buggy Barns, ANGELS AMONG US at a quilt shop 70 miles from my home...I have been asking for FOLKSY angel fabric wherever I shop! LOVE IT! THANKS SO MUCH!

  37. Amongst other things this summer, I took my 11-year-old great niece to quilt camp and we made a Kathy Brown "Fat Man's Squeeze" quilt - my niece's first quilt! Yay!

  39. This summer I made 2 original quilter banners for my church and I am also doing the BOM on Craftsy. I other cool thing was making a steampunk Victorian style jacket out of 3 by 4 inch pieces of kimono scraps!

  44. I worked on a Breast cancer awareenss charity project for all the employees of the breast care center of a huge hospital nearby. After I was diagnosed with breast cancer their . It wa smy misssion to give back some kindness for all teh kindness they do for others each and every day. I have also done some hand embroidery projects and made some camoflauge quilted placmats for my sister . And lots fo baby shower gifts made as well.

  49. I went to Chicago in June to the big quilt show there and spent the weekend with quilting friends. We worked on quilts for charity and had a wonderful time at the show.

  51. I've been spending a lot of time with my young granddaughters this summer. I have been able to get 2 quilts quilted on my home machine. This week my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter and I made 2 doll quilts, one for the next youngest granddaughter for her 3rd birthday and one for herself. I hope this is just the beginning of her interest in quilting.

  55. My summer is not yet over. My hubby and I are still on vacation, it won't end until middle of September. So far, summer has been good. Before leaving for our trip I accomplished a lot of quilting, mainly EPP. I did complete 2 wallhangings. I also successfully organized a big family reunion which was a great success. All in all its been good, weather has been a little bearable this summer though, surprisingly. Thank you for the chance to win. I really like snow babies. I gotta have it, so I will purchase it if I don't win.

  58. This summer I have made three quilts. Two Nieces will each get one for Christmas. I have a couple of BOM going too.Recently two grandsons wanted homemade pencil cases out of Star Wars fabrics and Superman fabric with pillow cases made with the extra fabric. It has been a busy sewing summer and I love it.

  60. We have had a lot of visitors this summer, and while they have been here I have been squeezing in some quilting. I'm working on a couple of sampler quilts, which have been the perfect projects, since I can complete a block or two at a time and feel like I am making progress.

  62. I've been busy making placemats for my neighbor along with coasters for wine goblets, very unique! Made some clothes for husband and 1 of my sons. Currently working on school clothes for my neice. For nephew made many 3 piece suits! Including ties!! Thanks for giveaway!

For some reason my sewing slows down in the summer months...I think because I'm busy outside enjoying our short summer or we're off doing something as a family (hard to take the sewing machine camping LOL)...I did enjoy making a few new bags/purses for myself and scored a ton of fabric from a yard sale(that made for a great summer!).

  70. My son was married on August 24th. In spite of all the craziness that comes with a wedding, I managed to finish 2 scrappy quilt tops and have 2 more partially finished that should be ready by Labor Day.

  82. I finished up a baby quilt, restyled some aprons and made a hooded baby bath towel ~ all while I was selling my "suburban" home in Southern California!! We have been traveling since selling it, and I could not lug the machine in our suburban with eight of us traveling. We hope to buy a "rural" home soon and get back to sewing and quilting!!

  84. What a busy summer! Filled with family and getting settled into a new home. And then The Beaver Creek Fire evacuated more than 2,000 homes so our home became a Refugee Center of sorts. Quilting took back seat for awhile!
