Best Wishes & Another Giveaway!



Yesterday we showed you Dawn Heese's latest pattern of pincushions. Her fabric line, Best Wishes, is available at your local quilt shops now. Take a look at what she's made with her fabric!


Best Wishes is such a beautiful line. The colors and the images are so very pretty.




Dawn designed a free pattern for you to download. It's a lovely, cozy design that you can make especially for this fall weather that is coming our way!

  4. Most of the quilts I make are folk art and applique or basic piecing, but I love the look of Medallion quilts. This is the year that I plan on learning more about machine quilting and doing more complex quilts.

  6. I made one once, and used it in a round robin. It's my very favorite - unfortunately, it went through Hurricane Katrina and is very heavily damaged. I keep it for nostalgia... I LOVE medallion quilts!

  9. I have made some medallion quilts and some I would call "almost medallion" where I have one large featured block that might be applique or intricate piecing and then I surround it with less complicated blocks.

  10. I've purchased a quilt kit (my first ever) for a medallion, but can't start on it until I finish my current WIPs (those are the rules). :)

  18. No, I haven't made a medallion quilt yet. Dawn's version is lovely. I love the Best Wishes free pattern quilt, especially the plaid stars. That is a beautiful fabric collection.

  23. I made one once, unintentionally, lol!! I made a wall hanging for brother & SIL but when I saw where they wanted to hang it, the little wallhanging became the center of a much larger quilt. Thanks for a chance to win some of Dawn's fabrics!! She does such great work!!

  46. I did recently make a medallion quilt that is in the small side measuring 17" square. It was a fun, fun project!

  47. Yes. A Baltimore style wall hanging with a center square surrounded by 12 smaller ones and then borders. And it only took me five years to complete!

  48. My Blogger logo is the centre of the medallion quilt that I made. Some of the blocks that surround the medallion are part of an international block swap so I have much love in my quilt. Adore the fabrics and plan to be part of the BOW fun

  53. Hi! Yes, I have made a Medallion Quilt! It had needleturn applque in the centre and various blocks around it in a Civil War design! It is very nice. I almost won a ribbon in our local quilt show!

  61. I've never made a medallion quilt--but I have an interesting book on English medallion quilts. I really love the design Dawn has with the eagle in the center. I live on a bird reserve and we have 5 eagles. This fabric line is beautiful. Rust and blue...what a stunning combinaton. Now..I want to return to home page and study the pattern more!
