Heather Mulder Peterson's Virtual Baby Shower

Heather Mulder Peterson and her husband, Joel, are expecting their first baby any day now! We are so excited for them. She looks gorgeous, doesn't she? We thought that we'd have a bit of fun but more on that later.

She's recently published a book for kids and we can't say how adorable it is enough times! We'll be showing off some more of the projects in a later post.

The sample yardage of her latest line, Seaside Cottage, is on its way to Minnesota as we speak! We can't wait to see what Heather makes with this yardage! We'll keep you posted on that!

Here's where the fun for you begins! Answer these questions here or on Facebook and two lucky winners will be chosen randomly for a prize of a copy of the book and some fat quarters of Seaside Cottage. Are you ready?

1. Guess the weight of the baby.
2. Guess the date of birth of the baby.
3. Give Heather and Joel some advice or recommendations on baby products.

The contest will run until next Friday, June 15 at 4 p.m. Good luck!

Come back on Friday for some more fun! Some of our Henry Glass designers will have their answers and advice!

Congratulations, Heather and Joel! We can't wait to meet the new baby!

  2. For the weight I am going to guess 8 lbs 3 oz and for the date I am going to guess June 10. I could give lots of advice but parents have to do whats best for them with their child in spite of all the "helpful" advice from others. With a new baby you will be busier than you have ever been in your life but just take the time to enjoy your baby each day as they grow up way too fast.

  4. I guess 7 pounds 4 oz, June 10th, and my advice is to sleep when the baby sleeps and let other stuff go. Dishes and vacuuming, etc. will be there to take care of later.

  5. I would say it is going to be 7lbs 8 oz.
It will be born on June 21, my anniversary, lol.
When you come home with the baby, let the relatives clean and cook, so you can enjoy the baby and rest. Do not try to take care of company, they are there to take care of you;)

  33. Okay, I'm gonna say June 15th, Weight 6 lbs 15 oz. and about 21" long. As for baby products, wow, ya know I'm from the time before disposable diapers, LOL. I had only cloth diapers for my daughters. But when we found ourselves raising our grandsons from birth, we learned that (here comes a tip) you should keep just a few cloth diapers handy, because when he gets the occasional, albeit inevitable diaper rash, putting him in cloth diapers for just a day or even a few hours, will help speed up the healing and also keep him more comfy as the disposables hold more heat. Just a little something I learned raising our two oldest grandsons. Congratulations and Big Hugs...

  56. Little Petersen will weigh in at 7 lbs 12 oz on June 13 th.. Hold him closely whenever you can, forget about carrying him around in a car seat. Get out for fresh air everyday, it does you both good. My husband used to say that if he came home and the house was clean and there was a beautiful dinner but I was in a bad mood, then there was a problem . So, lower your standards on housework and meals and have fun with the baby instead and everyone will be happy.God bless all!

  67. June 12th, 7 lbs. 5 oz. Advice: Sleep when the baby sleeps; accept help when it's offered; cherish even the fussy moments...someday you're gonna miss it; do what you feel is best for your family, regardless of what others *think* you should do; make it a point to make time for each other-babies can be all (time) consuming; it's okay for the baby to cry-it might break your heart to hear it, but occasionally letting them cry won't hurt them. And love on the wee one with abandon. They really do grow up in the blink of an eye.

  182. 7lb 4 oz for the weight. Date 15th June. Advice...if it's not standard procedure have your baby checked for Cystic Fibrosis. My niece's little girl has CF, it's not routine to check in the UK for it but she had the test done anyway. There is no one in either family with CF but they were both carriers, my great niece is doing really well because she was diagnosed so early, and it's such a simple test to do.
